R. Luke DuBois
I came across Luke DuBois' work in February 2017, while doing some research on making art out of data. In a TED Talk be conducted, he admits that he cannot draw or paint, but his strengths lie in music and coding, which he utilises to create his art pieces. His works were especially intriguing given today's context of the digital landscape. Especially with the internet, information, or rather data, is easily accessible. He takes the available information on digital platforms and makes his presentations of these data into a work of art.

His works, specifically the piece titled "Self-portrait" (2014) reminded me that in this digital space, although I may be an individual being, I am shaped by the data around me. I am my data. For that very reason, this is the only portrait in this series that includes lines of code of the image of myself.
